The above oomplaint wag ï¬led against Nathanioi H. Koonig, an attorney licensed to
pracï¬oo law in Tonnessoo, alleging certain acts of misconduct. Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule
9, the Board of Profossional Respomiï¬ility oonsiciered this matter ai its meeting on Sum 10,
2011.
Respondoni roprosonted Compiaiuam in a pol'sonai injury nose. Respondent and
(fomplainant failed to appear for a Imuary 13, 2010 court date, and the case was dismissed for
failure to prosecute. Opposing counsel informedA Respondent of the dismissal, but the
Rougondent did not advise his client that the case had been disrnissod.
Instead, sauerai months aftor the dismissal, Rospondont told Complainant that ho was still
waiting on a response from opposing oounsoi about a sottioment offer. However, sometime
shortiy ï¬ioreaftor, Respoudont informod nor that the case had actually been dismissed for failure
to appear. Respondent assm'ed Complainant he would rev-filo the case immediately, but he did
not do so for six months. The case was again dismissed.
By the aforeumantioned acts, Naï¬lalï¬el 1-1. Koanig has violated Rules of Professional
Conduct 1.3 (diligence), 1.4 (commmï¬cation), and 32 (failure to expedite litigation) and is
hereby Publicly Censured for these violations.
