PUBLIC CENSURE

The above complaint was filed against Donald Edison Spurrell, an attorney licensedto practice

law in Tennessee, alleging certain acts of misconduct. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, the Board

of Professional Responsibility considered these mattors at its meeting on June 10; 2016,

Mr. Spurroll failed. to obtain a written agreement signed by his client in a contingent fee case

Mr. Spurreil collected an unreasonable fee flom the client’s medical pay provision paid tlnough hot

insurance policy. Mr. Spurrell also failed to supervise his paralegal who improperly oormningled

trust account funds into Mr. Spurreil’s operating account on several occasions

By these acts, Donald Edwin Spurrell has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.5 (fees),

1.15 (safekeeping property), and 5.3 (responsibilities regarding nonlawyor assistants) and is hereby

Publicly Cemented for these Violations.
