KNOXVILLE LAWYER CENSURED
Effective January 5, 2009, Charles G. Currier, of Knoxville, Tennessee, received a Public Censure from
the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
By order of the Court of Criminal Appeals filed July 30, 2008, the Respondent was found grossly
negligent and in willful contempt for having failed to timely file appellate briefs in two criminal cases and
sentenced Respondent to serve five days in jail, suspended on the condition that he file briefs in the two cases
by August 21, 2008. The Respondent filed the brief in one case on August 15, 2008, and in the second on
August 21, 2008.
For these violations, the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee
publicly censured Charles G. Currier. A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not
affect the attorneyâs ability to practice law.
