On April 23, 2026, Dalen L. P. Farmer, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Farmer was hired by a client to defend her in a partition and promissory fraud action. A motion to
compel was filed against his client for failing to provide discovery responses. Mr. Farmer did not provide a copy
of the motion to his client, and he did not file a response. Mr. Farmer failed to appear in court on the motion.
The plaintiff received a judgment of default and sanctions against the client.
By these acts, Dalen L. P. Farmer has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 (competence), 1.3
(diligence), 1.4 (communication), 1.5 (fees), 8.4 (prejudice to the administration of justice), 3.4 (fairness to
opposing party), and 8.1 (disciplinary matters) and is hereby Publicly Censured for these violations.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
