JACKSON LAWYER REINSTATED TO THE PRACTICE OF LAW
On March 12, 2003, the Tennessee Supreme Court reinstated the law license of Robert
David Strickland, who practiced law in Jackson, Tennessee, at the time of his disbarment
in 1997. The Tennessee Supreme Court disbarred Strickland on March 18, 1997 for
neglect and failure to communicate with his clients. Strickland subsequently filed a petition
for reinstatement. The Hearing Panel found by clear and convincing evidence that
Stricklandâs law license should be reinstated subject to conditions.
The Tennessee Supreme Court reinstated Strickland subject to the following conditions:
1. Strickland shall comply with all requirements of his contract with Tennessee
Lawyers Assistance Program for a period of five (5) years; and
2. Strickland shall have a monitor who is a practicing attorney who shall provide
quarterly reports to the Board of Professional Responsibility for period of five
years; and
3. Strickland must successfully complete the essay portion of the Tennessee
Bar exam.
