DYERSBURG LAWYER TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
On May 18, 2009, the Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended the law license of Thomas H.
Strawn, Jr., a Dyersburg attorney, pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The Board of
Professional Responsibility petitioned the Court to temporarily suspend Strawnâs law license because of
Strawnâs posing a threat of substantial harm to the public by failing to competently and adequately represent
clients in seven Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases in the Western District of Tennessee, Eastern Division.
Pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.3, Strawn cannot accept new clients or undertake any new representation.
He may represent existing clients for 30 days, after which he cannot represent them. Strawn may file an
application with the Tennessee Supreme Court requesting a dissolution or modification of the temporary
suspension order. If he makes such an application, a hearing to consider whether the suspension should be
continued, modified or dissolved will be conducted before a panel consisting of two members of the Board of
Professional Responsibility and one Hearing Committee member.
