DAVIDSON COUNTY LAWYER SUSPENDED
On February 24, 2009, Michael Sneed of Madison, Tennessee was suspended by the Tennessee
Supreme Court for a period of eighteen (18) months pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.2, of the Rules of the
Supreme Court.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Mr. Sneed pursuant
to Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. A Hearing Panel heard the matter and issued an
eighteen (18) month suspension which was adopted by the Supreme Court. Mr. Sneed filed a motion with
the Supreme Court to vacate the February 24 Order of Enforcement. On March 23, the Court affirmed its
prior order in all respects.
Mr. Sneed violated the Rules of Professional Conduct by neglecting client files, failing to communicate
with his clients and failing to keep adequate trust account records. Mr. Sneed violated Disciplinary Rules
1-102(A)(B), 2-110(A)(1)(2), 6-101(A)(1)(2)(3), 7-101(A)(1)(2)(3)(4), 7-102(A)(3), and 9-102(A)(B). Mr.
Sneed was further ordered to pay the costs of the disciplinary proceedings.
For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee suspended Michael Sneed for eighteen (18)
months.
