WASHINGTON COUNTY LAWYER DISBARRED
Effective June 26, 2020, the Tennessee Supreme Court disbarred William E. McManus, Jr., of
Washington County, Tennessee, from the practice of law.
Mr. McManus consented to disbarment acknowledging he could not successfully defend the charges
alleged in a complaint filed against him with the Board. Mr. McManusâ conduct violated Rules of Professional
Conduct 8.4(a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) (Misconduct).
Mr. McManus must comply with the requirements of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9, Sections 28 and
30.4, regarding the obligations and responsibilities of disbarred attorneys and may not return to the active
practice of law until an order of reinstatement has been entered by the Supreme Court.
