Public censure on August 30, 1989. He had been appointed guardian and trustee of monies
which a client had received in a judgment. An accounting had not bee filed since January 1,
1982. The client obtained counsel, who wrote and tried to call Griffin asking for an accounting.
The Clerk and Master wrote Griffin on May 15, 1988 and received no response. After the
client's counsel filed a complaint, Griffin provided an accounting. He stated the reason he had
not provided an accounting earlier was, "[W]e moved our office and shortly thereafter this file,
along with several others, somehow became misplaced and was only recently found." He
offered no explanation for not responding to the letters written earlier to him by counsel and the
Clerk and Master.
