SUMNER COUNTY ATTORNEY DISBARRED
On July 12, 2012, John Pierce Brownlee, Jr., was disbarred by Order of the Tennessee Supreme Court
pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.1, of the Rules of the Supreme Court.
Mr. Brownlee was convicted of conspiracy to defraud the United States and corrupt endeavor to
interfere with administration of Internal Revenue Laws. Mr. Brownleeâs actions violate Tennessee Supreme
Court Rule 8, Section 8.4 (misconduct).
Mr. Brownlee was further ordered to pay the expenses and costs of the disciplinary proceedings against
him pursuant to Rule 9, Section 24.3, of the Rules of the Supreme Court, and fully comply in all respects with
the requirements and obligations of disbarred attorneys as set forth in Rule 9, Section 18.1, of the Rules of the
Supreme Court.
