KNOXVILLE ATTORNEY TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
On April 22, 2010, the Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended the law license of Kristin
Alyse Godsey, a Knoxville attorney, pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The Board of
Professional Responsibility petitioned the Court to temporarily suspend Godseyâs law license because of
Godseyâs failure to respond to a complaint of ethical misconduct.
Pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.3, Godsey cannot accept new clients or undertake any new representation.
She may represent existing clients for 30 days, after which she cannot represent them. Godsey may file an
application with the Tennessee Supreme Court requesting a dissolution or modification of the temporary
suspension order. If she makes such an application, a hearing to consider whether the suspension should be
continued, modified or dissolved will be conducted before a panel consisting of two members of the Board and
one Hearing Committee member from Disciplinary District 2.
