SHELBY COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On April 1, 2026, Theodore Iver Jones, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a Public
Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Jones was hired to represent a client to obtain clear title on two separate properties. Throughout the
representation, Mr. Jones failed to act diligently on behalf of his client. Additionally, Mr. Jones misrepresented
the status of the case to his client.
By these acts, Mr. Jones has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 (diligence), and 8.4 (misconduct)
and is hereby Publicly Censured for these violations.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
