LEBANON ATTORNEY CENSURED
On July 18, 2006, Adam Wilding Parrish of Lebanon, Tennessee received a Public from
the Board of Professional Responsibility. Parrish was given notice of the Censure and did not
request a hearing.
On December 16, 2005, the Board of Professional Responsibility received notice of an
overdraft in Parrishâs trust account. The Board of Professional Responsibilityâs review of
Parrishâs trust account records revealed ATM withdrawals, debits and check card purchases from
Parrishâs trust account. From June, 2005, through April, 2006, Parrish did not have a business
operating account but solely used his trust account as both a trust and operating account. Parrish
did maintain client ledger sheets documenting Parrishâs disbursements, ATM withdrawals, debits
and checks from his trust account. Parrishâs co-mingling of trust funds with personal funds and
Parrishâs use of his trust account as both a trust and operating account violates Rule 1.15 and 8.4
of the Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct. For these violations, the Board of Professional
Responsibility publicly censures Parrish. The Censure declares Parrishâs actions to be improper
conduct, but does not limit Parrishâs right to practice law.
