SUMNER COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On July 27, 2012, Randy Paul Lucas, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Lucas represented to his clients on several occasions that he had secured a trial date. After being
notified of numerous continuances, the clients went to the courthouse, reviewed the court file and discovered
Mr. Lucas had never obtained a trial date. Respondent made material misrepresentations of fact to his clients
and neglected his clientsâ case.
By these acts, Randy Paul Lucas violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 (diligence); 1.4
(communication); 3.2 (expediting litigation); and 8.4 (misconduct) and is hereby Publicly Censured for these
violations.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
