CHATTANOOGA LAWYER SUSPENDED

On July 30, 2009, Bruce H. Guthrie of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was suspended by the Tennessee
Supreme Court, pursuant to a Conditional Guilty Plea, for a period of twenty-six (26) months, pursuant to Rule
9, Section 4.2, of the Rules of the Supreme Court. Mr. Guthrie’s suspension will be served retroactive to the
date of the Respondent’s temporary suspension from the practice of law on May 18, 2007.

Mr. Guthrie violated disciplinary rules by neglecting the files of four separate clients and failing to
communicate with those clients. Mr. Guthrie’s actions violated Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 8, Rules of
Professional Conduct 1.3 (Diligence) and 1.4 (Communication).

Mr. Guthrie was furthered ordered to pay the expenses and costs of the disciplinary proceedings against
him, pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.7, of the Rules of the Supreme Court and fully comply in all respects with the
requirements and obligations of suspended attorneys as set forth in Rule 9, Section 18.1 of the Rules of the
Supreme Court.
