MADISON COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On October 25, 2011, Angela LaShanda Jenkins-Hines, an attorney licensed to practice law in
Tennessee, received a Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme
Court.
Ms. Jenkins-Hines utilized her trust account to pay personal and business expenses, such as rent
payments, donations to her church, and purchases from various retailers. The trust account, however, contained
only Ms. Jenkins-Hinesâ own funds.
By misusing her trust account, Ms. Jenkins-Hines has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15
(safekeeping property) and is hereby Publicly Censured for this violation.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
