DAVIDSON COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED

On July 21, 2011, Nathaniel H. Koenig, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Mr. Koenig and his client failed to appear for a court date in a personal injury case and the case was
dismissed for failure to prosecute. Opposing counsel later informed Mr. Koenig of the dismissal, but Mr.
Koenig did not advise his client the case had been dismissed. Instead, several months after the dismissal, Mr.
Koenig told his client that he was still waiting on a response from opposing counsel about a settlement offer.
However, sometime shortly thereafter, Mr. Koenig informed his client that the case had actually been dismissed
for failure to appear. Mr. Koenig assured his client he would re-file the case immediately, but he did not do so
for six months. The case was again dismissed.

By the aforementioned acts, Nathaniel H. Koenig, has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3
(Diligence), 1.4 (Communication), and 3.2 (Expediting Litigation), and is hereby publicly censured for these
violations. A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability
to practice law.
