Suspended for thirty (30) days by order entered December 6, 1996, retroactive to November 29,
1996 when he ceased practicing law. He agreed that his employee had failed to maintain his
escrow account in 1992 and part of 1993 according to acceptable bookkeeping standards. None
of his clients lost any monies, but proper bookkeeping of escrow accounts is of highest priority.
While Smoot was prohibited from practicing law during the 30 days, he was permitted to keep
his office open.
