ORDER TRANSFERRING ATTORNEY TO
DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
This matter is before the Court upon a petition to transfer Kevin Carmack Angel to
disability inactive status filed by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 27.4. Upon due consideration of documentation from
Mr. Angelâs medical provider, the Court concludes that Kevin Carmack Angel is
currently incapacitated from continuing the practice of law and unable to participate in
the pending Petition for Discipline, Docket No. 2020-3070-2-BL.
On August 18, 2020, Mr. Angel was temporarily suspended by this Court,
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3 (Case No. M2020-01087-SC-BAR-BP), and has
neither requested nor been granted reinstatement.
IT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND
DECREED BY THE COURT THAT:
1. The law license of Kevin Carmack Angel shall be transferred to disability
inactive status indefinitely and until further orders of the Supreme Court, and disciplinary
proceedings shall be suspended pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, Section 27.4(b).
2. Mr. Angel shall be allowed to petition for reinstatement to active status
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 27.7.
3. The Board shall publish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9, §§ 27.5 and 28.11.
4. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 32.4, documents other than this Order
relating to Mr. Angelâs disability proceeding shall not be public records and shall be kept
confidential.
