JOHNSON CITY ATTORNEY PLACED ON DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
On January 4, 2008, the law license of attorney Michael D. Kellum, who last practiced law in
Johnson City, was transferred to disability inactive status. Prior to this transfer to disability inactive
status, Mr. Kellum’s law license had been temporarily suspended pursuant to Section 4.3, Rule 9 of the
Tennessee Supreme Court Rules. Mr. Kellum petitioned the Supreme Court to permit this transfer as a
result of an illness. Disciplinary Counsel did not object to the transfer.
Mr. Kellum cannot practice law until his law license is reinstated by the Supreme Court after a
reinstatement hearing. This transfer was made pursuant to Section 21, Rule 9, Rules of the Tennessee
Supreme Court.
