KNOXVILLE LAWYER REINSTATED BY SUPREME COURT
Robert E. Nichols, a Knoxville attorney, has been reinstated to the practice of law by Order of the
Tennessee Supreme Court entered on January 29, 2007. Mr. Nichols was temporarily suspended from the
practice of law by Order of the Supreme Court filed November 21, 2006, for failing to respond to complaints of
misconduct. On October 26, 2006, Mr. Nichols filed responses to the complaints, and on December 6, 2006,
Mr. Nichols filed a Petition for Dissolution of Order of Temporary Suspension. A hearing was conducted on
December 8, 2006, before a Hearing Panel of the Board of Professional Responsibility. On January 5, 2007, the
Hearing Panel recommended that the temporary suspension be dissolved. The January 29, 2007, Order of the
Supreme Court required Mr. Nichols to pay the costs of the disciplinary proceeding.
