ORDER TRANSFERRING ATTORNEY TO
DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS

This matter is before the Court upon a Notice of Contention of Disability filed by
William M. Monroe pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 27.4, and a Response filed by the
Tennessee Board ofProfessional Responsibility.

Upon due consideration of documentation from Mr. Monroe's medical care
provider submitted by Mr. Monroe's counsel and the response of the Board, the Court
concludes that William M. Monroe is currently incapacitated from continuing the practice
of law or from defending himself against the disciplinary proceeding now pending before
the Board ofProfessional Responsibility.

IT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND
DECREED BY THE COURT THAT:

1. The law license of William M. Monroe shall be transferred to disability
inactive status for an indefinite period of time and until further orders of the Supreme
Court.

2. Mr. Monroe shall be allowed to petition for reinstatement to active status
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9,§ 27.7.

3. The Board shall publish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9, §§ 27.5 and 28.11.

4. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 32.4, documents other than this Order
relating to Mr. Monroe's disability proceeding shall not be public records and shall be
kept confidential.
