NASHVILLE LAWYER SUSPENDED
On January 16, 2009, the Tennessee Supreme Court entered an Order suspending the law license of
Edward L. Swinger, a Nashville attorney, for one hundred twenty (120) days.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline and Supplemental Petition for
Discipline against Mr. Swinger alleging neglect, failure to keep his clients informed, failure to promptly
forward settlement proceeds and failure to hold a clientâs funds in a trust account. Mr. Swinger admits he
violated Rules 1.1; 1.2(d); 1.3; 1.4; 1.5; 1.7; 1.15; 3.2 and 8.4 of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Mr. Swinger agreed to a one hundred twenty (120) day suspension which was approved by the
Tennessee Supreme Court. Mr. Swingerâs actions violated the Rules of Professional Conduct. Mr. Swinger
shall comply with the requirements and obligations of suspended attorneys as set forth in Section 18 of Rule 9,
Rules of the Supreme Court.
