NASHVILLE LAWYER SUSPENDED

On June 22, 2009, Helen L. Cornell, of Nashville, Tennessee, was suspended for six (6) months by
Order of the Tennessee Supreme Court. The suspension is effective beginning July 2, 2009.

The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Helen L. Cornell
pursuant to Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Ms. Cornell violated the Rules of
Professional Conduct by misrepresenting herself to a party whom she later added as a defendant in a lawsuit.
Ms. Cornell misrepresented her identity to this third party and sought information without revealing the purpose
of her communication. Ms. Cornell entered into a Conditional Guilty Plea agreeing to a six (6) months
suspension.

Ms. Cornell’s actions violate the following Rule(s) of Professional Conduct: 4.1, Truthfulness and
Candor in Statements to Others; and 8.4, Misconduct.

Ms. Cornell must comply with Section 18 of Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court, regarding the
obligations and responsibilities of suspended attorneys
