NASHVILLE ATTORNEY CENSURED
On October 20, 2006, Jeffrey Scott Pulley, of Nashville, Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility based upon two complaints.
Pulley was given notice of the Censure and did not request a hearing. The first complaint
concerned Pulleyâs representation of a client in her divorce. Pulley was negligent in completing
the clientâs divorce and failed to keep the Complainant informed about her case. In the second
complaint, Pulley also represented another client in her divorce. Pulley failed to file the clientâs
divorce and failed to accept or return the clientâs calls. Pulley acknowledges neglecting the
clientâs case. Pulley did provide the client with a refund check. Pulleyâs neglect and failure to
communicate with his clients violates Rules 1.3, 1.4 and 3.2 of the Tennessee Rules of
Professional Conduct. Pulleyâs accepting a fee from the client and then failing to take any action
violates Rules 1.5 and 8.4(d) of the Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct. The Public
Censure declares Pulleyâs actions to be improper ethical conduct but does not limit Pulleyâs right
to practice law.
