NASHVILLE ATTORNEY CENSURED

On October 20, 2006, Jeffrey Scott Pulley, of Nashville, Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility based upon two complaints.
Pulley was given notice of the Censure and did not request a hearing. The first complaint
concerned Pulley’s representation of a client in her divorce. Pulley was negligent in completing
the client’s divorce and failed to keep the Complainant informed about her case. In the second
complaint, Pulley also represented another client in her divorce. Pulley failed to file the client’s
divorce and failed to accept or return the client’s calls. Pulley acknowledges neglecting the
client’s case. Pulley did provide the client with a refund check. Pulley’s neglect and failure to
communicate with his clients violates Rules 1.3, 1.4 and 3.2 of the Tennessee Rules of
Professional Conduct. Pulley’s accepting a fee from the client and then failing to take any action
violates Rules 1.5 and 8.4(d) of the Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct. The Public
Censure declares Pulley’s actions to be improper ethical conduct but does not limit Pulley’s right
to practice law.
