NASHVILLE LAWYER TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
On January 25, 2010, the Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended the law license of
Jerry Maynard, II, of Nashville, Tennessee, pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The
Board of Professional Responsibility petitioned the Court to temporarily suspend Maynardâs law license
because he failed to respond to a complaint of ethical misconduct.
Effective January 25, 2010, Mr. Maynard is precluded from accepting any new clients and must cease
representing existing clients by February 25, 2010. After February 25, 2010, Mr. Maynard shall not use any
indicia of lawyer, legal assistant, or law clerk nor maintain a presence where the practice of law is conducted.
Mr. Maynard must notify all clients he represents in pending legal matters, as well as co-counsel and
opposing counsel, of the Supreme Court=s Order suspending his law license. Section 18 of Supreme Court
Rule 9 requires Mr. Maynard to deliver to all clients any papers or property to which they are entitled.
This suspension remains in effect until dissolution or modification by the Supreme Court. Mr. Maynard
may, for good cause, request dissolution or modification of the suspension by petition to the Supreme Court. If
he makes such an application, a hearing to consider whether the suspension should be continued, modified or
dissolved will be conducted before a panel of the Board of Professional Responsibility.
