COOKEVILLE LAWYER CENSURED
Edwin J. Mackie, Jr., a Cookeville attorney, received a Public Censure from the Board of
Professional Responsibility on October 19, 2006.
On February 23, 2006, the Internal Revenue Service filed a Notice of Federal Tax Lien
against Mr. Mackie for failure to pay Section 941 federal withholding taxes for the four quarters
of 2004. Mr. Mackie paid the taxes and obtained a release of lien dated July 6, 2006.
Edwin J. Mackie, Jr., violated Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(a)(c)(d).
A Public Censure is a form of public discipline which declares the conduct of the lawyer
improper but does not limit the lawyer's right to practice.
