MEMPHIS LAWYER TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED

On November 28, 2004 the Supreme Court of Tennessee issued an order summarily and
temporarily suspending Vaughan Eugene Reid’s license to practice law, upon finding that Mr. Reid had
failed to answer a complaint of misconduct. Section 4.3 of Supreme Court Rule 9 provides for the
immediate summary suspension of an attorney’s license to practice law in cases of failing to answer a
complaint of misconduct filed with the Board of Professional Responsibility. Disciplinary Counsel filed a
petition with the Supreme Court alleging that Mr. Reid had failed to answer a complaint of misconduct.

The November 29, 2004 order precludes Mr. Reid from accepting any new cases effective
November 29, 2004. Mr. Reid must cease representing existing clients effective December 29, 2004.
After December 29, 2004, Mr. Reid shall not use any indicia of lawyer, legal assistant, or law clerk nor
maintain a presence where the practice of law is conducted.

The order requires Mr. Reid to notify by registered or certified mail all clients being represented in
pending matters, as well as co-counsel and opposing counsel of the Supreme Court’s order suspending his
law license. Section 18 of Supreme Court Rule 9 requires Mr. Reid to deliver to all clients any papers or
property to which they are entitled.

This suspension remains in effect until dissolution or modification by the Supreme Court. Mr. Reid
may for good cause request dissolution or modification of the suspension by petition to the Supreme Court.
