WAYNE COUNTY LAWYER TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
On December 14, 2009, the Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended the law license of John
Wilburn Castleman, Jr., a Waynesboro attorney, pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9.
The Board of Professional Responsibility petitioned the Court to temporarily suspend Castlemanâs law license
because of Castlemanâs failure to respond to a complaint of ethical misconduct.
Pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.3, Castleman cannot accept new clients or undertake any new
representation. He may represent existing clients for 30 days, after which he cannot represent them. Castleman
may file an application with the Tennessee Supreme Court requesting a dissolution or modification of the
temporary suspension order. If he makes such an application, a hearing to consider whether the suspension
should be continued, modified or dissolved will be conducted before a hearing panel appointed by the Board.
