BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

LAKE COUNTY LAWYER SUSPENDED
On August 13, 2012, the Tennessee Supreme Court suspended the law license of Guy Steven Davis, a
Lake County attorney, for a definite period of one year, retroactive to Mr. Davisâ Temporary suspension on
October 10, 2011, and indefinitely until Mr. Davis substantially complies with his Tennessee Lawyers
Assistance Program (TLAP) monitoring agreement for a period of six months.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Mr. Davis, pursuant to
Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 8.2. A Hearing Panel found Mr. Davis failed to comply with his TLAP
monitoring agreement, which violated the Supreme Courtâs August 22, 2010 Order reinstating Mr. Davis in part
based upon Mr. Davisâ substantial compliance with his TLAP monitoring agreement.
Mr. Davisâ actions violated the following Rules of Professional Conduct: 3.4 (fairness to opposing party
and counsel), 8.1 (disciplinary matters), and 8.4 (misconduct).
Mr. Davis was ordered to pay the expenses and costs of the disciplinary proceedings against him,
pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 24.3, and fully comply in all respects with the requirements and
obligations of suspended attorneys as set forth in Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 18.
