LUTHER, WILLIAM B. BPR # 001025
December 12, 1980
Suspended for one (1) year effective December 12, 1980. He represented an insurance company
on large claims against it; in particular, one made for a fire loss that was suspected of being
purposely set to collect the policy proceeds. He participated in a plan to surreptitiously extort a
confession of arson from said claimant to thus nullify his claim against the insurance carrier.
Luther did not originate or promote this scheme; yet, he acquiesced in it, without admonition or
protect that he was unwilling to participate in it to accomplish his client's purpose.
