NASHVILLE ATTORNEY SUSPENDED

On January 28, 2004, Nashville attorney Thomas L. Whiteside was temporarily suspended
from the practice of law by the Tennessee Supreme Court. The Court found that Whiteside
failed to respond to complaints of miscond uct.

Section 4.3 of Supreme Court Rule 9 provides for the immediate summary suspension of a
lawyer’s license to practice law in cases of failing to respond to the Board of Professional
Responsibility regarding a complaint.

The suspension order permits the suspended attorney to represent existing clients for thirty
days after the suspension. The attorney may not represent new clients during the thirty-day
period. After the thirty-day period the attorney is not permitted to represent any clients.

Whiteside is entitled to petition the Court for reinstatement. The suspension remains in effect
until dissolution or modification by the Supreme Court.
