NASHVILLE LAWYER CENSURED

On August 16, 2012, Karl E. Pulley of Nashville, Tennessee, was publicly censured by the Tennessee
Supreme Court.

The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Mr. Pulley pursuant to
Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Mr. Pulley submitted a Conditional Guilty Plea that
was approved by the Hearing Panel, the Board and the Supreme Court. Mr. Pulley violated the Rules of
Professional Conduct by failing to diligently represent clients, by failing to adequately communicate with
clients and by failing to promptly respond to inquiries from the Board. Mr. Pulley’s actions violated the
following Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.1, Competence; 1.3, Diligence; 1.4, Communication; 1.5(a), Fees;
1.16(d), Declining and Terminating Representation; 8.1(b), Bar Admission and Disciplinary Matters; and 8.4(a)
and (d), Misconduct.. Mr. Pulley was further ordered to pay the costs of the disciplinary proceedings.

For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censured Karl E. Pulley. A public
censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability to practice law.
