IN THE SUPREME COURT OF TENNESSEE
AT NASHVILLE
09/03/2025

IN RE: MICHAEL LLOYD FREEMAN, BPR NO. 028698
An Attorney Licensed to Practice Law in Tennessee
(Davidson County)
_____________________________

No. M2025-01321-SC-BAR-BP
_____________________________

ORDER OF TEMPORARY SUSPENSION

This matter is before the Court on a Petition of the Board of Professional
Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee (hereinafter “the Board”), by and
through Disciplinary Counsel, for the temporary suspension of Michael Lloyd Freeman
from the practice of law pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3. The Petition has been
authorized by the Chair of the Board and is supported by the Affidavit of Eileen Burkhalter
Smith, Disciplinary Counsel.

Based upon the Petition and supporting Affidavit, the Court finds that Michael
Lloyd Freeman, Respondent, failed to respond to the Board concerning two (2) separate
complaints of misconduct; failed to provide a full substantive response to one (1) complaint
for misconduct; and has demonstrated a pattern of ignoring repeated requests from the
Board for information and/or delaying unreasonably for months providing Disciplinary
Counsel with a response necessary to complete the investigation, thereby posing a threat
of substantial harm to the public.

IT IS THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED
BY THE COURT THAT:

1. Michael Lloyd Freeman is hereby temporarily suspended from the practice
of law as provided in Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3.

2. Michael Lloyd Freeman shall comply with Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9 in all respects
and particularly as provided in Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28, regarding the responsibilities of
suspended attorneys.

3. Michael Lloyd Freeman may make application for dissolution or
modification of this Order as provided in Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3.

4. The Board shall cause notice of this suspension of Michael Lloyd Freeman
to be published as required by Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.11.
