SHELBY COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On October 29, 2012, Michael E. Latimore, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received
a Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Latimore did not communicate with his client, diligently represent his clientâs interests, inform his
client that his license to practice law had been suspended, or issue an appropriate refund.
By the above acts, Michael E. Latimore, has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 (diligence),
1.4 (communication), 1.5 (fees), 1.16 (declining or terminating representation), 8.1 (bar admission and
disciplinary matters), 8.4 (misconduct) and is hereby Publicly Censured for this violation. Mr. Latimore has
prior public discipline of a similar nature.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
