Public censure on March 9, 1998. He represented a wife on business and personal matters, but
did not represent her husband on any separate matters. The couple had a dispute during their
marriage with a bank. Reeves represented both of them against the bank, obtaining a judgment
for $688,000. In February of 1995, a declaratory judgment lawsuit was filed relative to the
wife's father's estate. It was filed on behalf of the wife, as personal representative, against the
wife and the husband. Reeves represented the estate and the wife personally. An agreement was
reached in which it was agreed the couple owed $90,000 to the wife's father's estate. Relating to
this estate, the Court criticized Reeves' involvement on both sides and new counsel was obtained
to represent the estate because he had previously rendered legal assistance and advice to the
husband in the bank litigation. Reeves represented the wife during divorce proceedings. The
Board found a continuing conflict of interest as the bank judgment was the heart of the property
dispute between the couple.
