KINGSPORT LAWYER SUSPENDED
On May 20, 2008, Thomas Martin Browder of Kingsport, Tennessee was suspended by the Tennessee
Supreme Court for ten (10) months and twenty nine (29) days, retroactive to September 1, 2006. Beginning
August 1, 2007, Browder was indefinitely suspended until Browder files an affidavit with the Board of
Professional Responsibility showing that Browder has either made restitution to all complainants named in the
Boardâs Petition and Supplemental Petition against him or showing an agreement that has been entered into by
and between he and the complainants regarding restitution that is acceptable to the Board.
Browder violated disciplinary rules by neglecting client matters and failing to communicate with clients.
The Tennessee Supreme Court previously suspended Browder from the practice of law on August 4, 2006, for
eleven (11) months and twenty nine (29) days, with all but thirty (30) days to be served on probation. The
Board subsequently filed a Petition to Revoke Browderâs probation for his failure to satisfy the conditions of his
probation. The Boardâs Petition to revoke the probation resulted in this May 20, 2008, Order revoking
Browderâs probation, ordering Browder to serve the remaining ten (10) months and twenty nine (29) days of the
suspension and indefinitely suspending Browder until restitution is made.
