JACKSBORO LAWYER CENSURED
On April 30, 2007, the Board of Professional Responsibility issued a Public Censure as to Randall Keith
Hatfield, an attorney who practices law in Jacksboro, Tennessee. The Board found that an individual filed a
petition for post conviction relief on November 5, 1999. On March 9, 2000, Mr. Hatfield was appointed to
represent that individual. Since 2002, there has been little or no activity in the case. The post-conviction matter
has yet to be heard six (6) years later. Mr. Hatfield further failed to timely furnish Disciplinary Counsel his file
when requested to do so by Disciplinary Counsel. The client states that he has not even talked to Mr. Hatfield
for 3-½ years. The Board found that Mr. Hatfield violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 and 1.4.
This censure was issued pursuant to Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. This censure
does not limit Mr. Hatfieldâs ability to continue to practice law.
