ORDER TRANSFERRING TO DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS AND
DENYING PETITION TO DISSOLVE ORDER OF TEMPORARY SUSPENSION

On January 26, 2024, this Court entered an Order Granting Supplemental Petition
for Temporary Suspension pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3, suspending the law
license of Alex Fletcher Thompson for failure to comply with the Order of this Court
entered November 28, 2023.

On January 23, 2024, Mr. Thompson filed, under seal, a Petition to Dissolve Order
of Temporary Suspension. On February 2, 2024, the Board of Professional Responsibility
(“Board”) filed a response in opposition. On February 8, 2024, this Court entered an Order
referring the matter to the Board for hearing pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3(d).

On August 12, 2025, the Panel convened and considered the pleadings and
supporting documentation provided by Petitioner and the Board. On August 13, 2025, the
Panel entered its Report and Recommendation of the Hearing Panel recommending the
Petition to Dissolve Order of Temporary Suspension be denied without prejudice and Mr.
Thompson be transferred to disability inactive status. The Panel further recommended that
all documentation in this matter be placed under seal pending further order of this Court.
A copy of the Report and Recommendation of the Hearing Panel is incorporated herein by
reference.

On August 28, 2025, the Board filed an Application for Assessment of Costs which
Petitioner did not oppose. On September 11, 2025, the Hearing Panel entered its Findings
and Judgment for Assessment of Costs assessing costs of the matter to Mr. Thompson. A
copy of the Application for Assessment of Costs is incorporated herein by reference.

From all of which, the Court approves the Report and Recommendation of the Panel
and the Findings and Judgment for Assessment of Costs and adopts the same as this Court’s
Order.

IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED BY THE
COURT THAT:
1. The Petition to Dissolve Order of Temporary Suspension filed January 23,
2024, is dismissed without prejudice, and the Order Granting Supplemental Petition for
Temporary Suspension entered January 26, 2024, shall remain in effect until further order
of this Court.

2. The law license of Alex Fletcher Thompson shall be transferred to disability
inactive status for an indefinite period of time and until further orders of the Supreme Court.

3. All disciplinary matters including, but not limited to, Board Docket Nos.
2021-3214-5-AJ-12.3, 2022-3290-5-AC-2 and 2023-3367-5-AC-27, are suspended
indefinitely until such time as Alex Fletcher Thompson is removed from disability inactive
status by order of this Court.

4. Mr. Thompson shall be allowed to petition for reinstatement to active status
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 27.7.

5. Board costs in the amount of $3,238.50 are assessed against Alex Fletcher
Thompson for which execution, if necessary, may issue.

6. Mr. Thompson shall pay to the Clerk of this Court the costs incurred herein
within ninety (90) days of the entry of this Order, for all of which execution shall issue if
necessary.

7. The Board shall publish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9, §§ 27.5 and 28.11.

8. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 33.10 and Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 32.4,
documents other than this Order filed in this disciplinary matter are placed under seal until
further order of this Court.

9. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.1, this Order shall be effective upon
entry.
