MONTGOMERY COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On January 11, 2022, Travis Nathaniel Meeks, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee,
received a Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Meeks agreed to the joint representation of two clients in pursuing a detainer action. While this
representation was ongoing, Mr. Meeks agreed to represent one of the two clients in a second matter in which
the other clientâs interests were materially adverse. Mr. Meeks did not obtain an informed conflict waiver from
either client, and also failed to maintain reasonable communication with one of the two clients.
By these acts, Mr. Meeks, has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4 (communication), 1.7 (conflict
of interest: current client), and 1.8 (conflict of interest: current clients: specific rules), and is hereby Publicly
Censured for this violation.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
