TULLAHOMA LAWYER SUSPENDED

On July 21, 2010, the Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended the law license of Robert
Thomas Carter, a Tullahoma attorney, pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The
Board of Professional Responsibility petitioned the Court to temporarily suspend Mr. Carter’s law license
because of his failure to substantially comply with his Tennessee Lawyers Assistance Program (TLAP)
Monitoring Agreement.

Pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.3, Mr. Carter cannot accept new clients or undertake any new
representation. He may represent existing clients for thirty (30) days, after which he cannot represent them
unless the temporary suspension has been dissolved. Mr. Carter may file an application with the Tennessee
Supreme Court requesting a dissolution or modification of the temporary suspension order. If he makes
such an application, a hearing to consider whether the suspension should be continued, modified or
dissolved will be conducted before a panel consisting of members of the Board of Professional
Responsibility.
