ORDER OF ENFORCEMENT
This matter is before the Court upon a Petition for Discipline filed against Kevin
William Teets, Jr., on February 15, 2019; upon Answer of Kevin W. Teets, Jr. To Petition
for Discipline filed by Mr. Teets on April 25, 2019; upon final hearing held on June 18,
2020; upon the Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Judgment of the Hearing Panel
entered on August 10, 2020; upon service of the Findings of Fact, conclusions of Law and
Judgment of the Hearing Panel by the Executive Secretary of the Board on Mr. Teetsâ
attorney on August 10, 2020; upon the Boardâs Application for Assessment of Costs filed
on August 14, 2020, and the Boardâs Amended Application for Costs filed on August 19,
2020; upon the Findings and Judgment for Assessment of Costs entered on September 2,
2020; upon service of the Hearing Panelâs Findings and Judgment for Assessment of Costs
by the Executive Secretary of the Board on Mr. Teets and his attorney on September 2,
2020; upon the Petition for Review filed by Mr. Teets in the Circuit Court of Davidson
County on October 1, 2020; upon the Memorandum and Order entered by the Circuit Court
on May 17, 2021; upon the Boardâs Notice of Discretionary Costs Incurred and Request
for Entry of Final Judgment filed on June 15, 2021; upon the Courtâs Order Re:
Discretionary Costs entered on June 25, 2021; upon the Order taxing court costs upon Mr.
Teets entered in the Circuit Court on August 19, 2021; and upon the entire record in this
cause.
From all of which the Court approves the Judgment of the Circuit Court of Davidson
County and adopts the Circuit Courtâs Memorandum and Order as the Courtâs Order.
IT IS THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED
BY THE COURT THAT:
(1) Mr. Kevin William Teets, Jr. is suspended from the practice of law for one
(1) year active suspension, pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, §12.2.
(2) Prior to seeking reinstatement, Mr. Teets must have met all CLE
requirements and must have attended twelve (12) hours of continuing legal education
concerning ethics or professionalism in addition to the usual CLE requirements; have
remitted all outstanding registration fees and outstanding professional privilege taxes,
including those due from the date of this suspension until the date of reinstatement; and
have remitted all court costs and Board costs in this and his prior disciplinary matters.
(3) Additionally, Mr. Teets shall comply in all respects with Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9, §§ 28 and 30.4, regarding the obligations and responsibilities of suspended attorneys and
the procedure for reinstatement.
(4) Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.1, this Order shall be effective upon
entry.
(5) Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 31.3(f) (2014), Mr. Teets shall pay to the
Board of Professional Responsibility the expenses and costs in this matter in the amount
of $2,585.00, the court costs in the Davidson County Circuit Court, and shall pay to the
Clerk of this Court the costs incurred herein, within ninety (90) days of the entry of this
Order, for all of which execution may issue if necessary.
(6) The Board of Professional Responsibility shall cause notice of this discipline
to be published as required by Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.11.
