SUMNER COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED

On December 21, 2009, Cheryl J. Skidmore, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, received a Public Censure
from the Tennessee Supreme Court.

The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Cheryl J. Skidmore
pursuant to Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Ms. Skidmore submitted a Conditional
Guilty Plea agreeing to accept a Public Censure. Ms. Skidmore violated the Rules of Professional Conduct by
failing to ensure that an Order was sent to opposing counsel. Further, Ms. Skidmore failed to ensure that the
Order adequately reflected the judgment of the Juvenile Court. Her actions violate the following Rule(s) of
Professional Conduct: 3.1, Meritorious Claims and Contentions; 3.2(a), Expediting Litigation; 3.3(a) and (b),
Candor to the Tribunal; and 8.4(a), Misconduct. Ms. Skidmore is required to pay the costs of the disciplinary
proceedings.

For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censures Cheryl J. Skidmore. A public
censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability to practice law.
