Suspended for six (6) years and four (4) months by order entered April 6, 1998. He was
temporarily suspended on October 8, 1991 for failure to respond to the Board regarding
management of his escrow account and funds entrusted to him. A hearing before the Board to
dissolve the temporary suspension resulted in the Supreme Court keeping the temporary
suspension in effect because of the following findings. Baird admittedly paid personal
obligations from his trust account; failed to produce his canceled checks from his trust account;
kept large sums of cash in his office to keep the funds away from the IRS; and maintained no
records to reflect his cash sources or disbursements. The final sanction was the time served on
temporary suspension from October 8, 1991 through April 6, 1998.
