HAWKINS COUNTY LAWYER REINSTATED
On October 30, 2014, the Supreme Court of Tennessee reinstated the law license of John Stephen
Anderson. Mr. Anderson had been temporarily suspended by the Supreme Court of Tennessee on August 13,
2014, for failing to respond to the Board of Professional Responsibility regarding a complaint of misconduct.
Section 12.3 of Supreme Court Rule 9 provides for the immediate summary suspension of an attorneyâs license
to practice law for failure to respond to the Board regarding a complaint of misconduct. Mr. Anderson filed a
Petition to Dissolve Temporary Suspension on September 19, 2014, asking the Court to reinstate him. A Panel
appointed to hear the Petition recommended to the Supreme Court that the temporary suspension be dissolved.
Mr. Anderson was ordered to pay costs and expenses of the proceeding.
