BLOUNT COUNTY LAWYER PLACED ON DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS

By Order of the Tennessee Supreme Court entered December 2, 2013, the law license of Keith Lane
Edmistcn was transferred to disability inactive status pursuant to Section 21 of Tennessee Supreme Court
Rule 9.

Mr. Edmiston cannot practice law while on disability inactive status. He may return to the practice of
law after reinstatement by the Tennessee Supreme Court upon showing of clear and convincing evidence that
the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume the practice of law.

ORDER TRANSFERRING ATTORNEY TO
DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
This matter is before the Court upon a petition to transfer Keith Lane Edmiston to
disability inactive status filed by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 21.2.

Upon due consideration of medical documentation submitted by Michael Baron, '
M.D., M.P.H., the Court concludes that Keith Lane Ediniston is currently incapacitated
from continuing the‘practice of law.
It is, therefore, ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that:
1.
The law license of Keith Lane Edmiston shall be transferred to disability
inactive status for an indefinite period of time and until further orders of the Supreme
Court.
2.
Mr. Edmiston shall be allowed to petition for reinstatement to active status
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 21.6.
3.
The Board shall publish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9, §§ 21.4 and 21.5.
4.

Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 25.2, documents other than this Order

relating to Mr. Edmiston’s disability proceeding shall not be public records and shall be
kept confidentiai.
