TENNESSEE LAWYER SUSPENDED
On March 22, 2024, Wesley Shelman Spears, a resident of Hartford, Connecticut, was suspended for
two (2) years retroactive to October 25, 2023, by Order of Reciprocal Discipline entered by the Supreme Court
of Tennessee on March 22, 2024. Mr. Spears received a two (2) year suspension from the State of Connecticut
Superior Court, Judicial District of Hartford, entered September 25, 2023. On February 13, 2024, the Supreme
Court of Tennessee entered a Notice of Reciprocal Discipline directing Mr. Spears to demonstrate to the Court
why the discipline imposed by the State of Connecticut Superior Court should not be imposed by the Supreme
Court of Tennessee. Mr. Spears failed to respond to the directive of the Court.
Mr. Spears must comply with the requirements of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9, Sections 28 and 30.4
regarding the obligations and responsibilities of suspended attorneys and the procedure for reinstatement.
