DYER COUNTY LAWYER REINSTATED
On April 14, 2014, the Supreme Court of Tennessee reinstated Martin Lynn Howie to the practice of law
subject to several conditions, including a practice monitor and continued compliance with his TLAP monitoring
agreement.
Mr. Howie had been suspended by the Supreme Court of Tennessee on April 5, 2013, for a period of
three (3) years, with one (1) year served as an active suspension, retroactive to February 8, 2011. On October
24, 2013, Mr. Howie filed a Petition for Reinstatement to the practice of law and a hearing was held before a
Hearing Panel on March 5, 2014.
The Hearing Panel found that Mr. Howie complied with the terms and conditions of his suspension, and
further found that he had demonstrated the moral qualifications, competency and learning in the law required
for the practice of law, and that his resumption of the practice of law will not be detrimental to the integrity or
standing of the bar or administration of justice, or subversive to the public interest. Based upon the Hearing
Panelâs recommendation, the Supreme Court reinstated Mr. Howieâs license to practice law.
