GREEN, GERALD S.
May 24, 1995

BPR # 009470
County:Shelby

District:9

Public censure on May 24, 1995. Five complaints were filed against Green, four by clients and
one by an adverse party. He neglected his clients' legal matters and failed to adequately
communicate regarding their legal matters. Regarding the complaint filed by the adverse party,
he removed the adverse party's contested divorce action off the contested calendar and placed it
on a non-contested calendar. Thereafter, the Court ruled the case continued on three separate
occasions. Neither the adverse party nor her attorney were notified by the Court or by Green of
the continuances. A day before the scheduled hearing, Green express-mailed a letter to the
adverse party, who was residing in California, which she received after the hearing. Green and
his client represented to the Court that the adverse party had been notified of the divorce hearing.
They did not advise the Court that the notice had been sent the day prior to the hearing.
