KNOX COUNTY LAWYER PLACED ON DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
By Order of the Tennessee Supreme Court entered November 18, 2015, the law license of Yarboro Ann
Sallee was temporarily transferred to disability inactive status pursuant to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9,
Section 27.4, and the matter referred to a hearing panel for a determination of Ms. Salleeâs current capacity to
practice law and to respond to or defend against a disciplinary complaint. By Order dated April 15, 2016, the
Tennessee Supreme Court determined Ms. Sallee is currently incapacitated from continuing the practice of law
and is unable to adequately respond to or defend against a pending disciplinary complaint.
On July 23, 2015, Ms. Salleeâs license to practice law was suspended by the Supreme Court of
Tennessee for one year after a hearing panel determined Ms. Sallee had violated Rules of Professional Conduct.
The Order transferring Ms. Sallee to disability inactive status does not affect her disciplinary suspension.
Pursuant to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 28.1, the Order transferring Ms. Sallee to
disability inactive status was effective November 18, 2015, and prohibits Ms. Sallee from engaging in the
practice of law. Ms. Sallee may petition for removal of disability inactive status pursuant to Tennessee
Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 27.7.
